Cobrinzo Eye Drop (5ml)
A dual-action combination prescription eye drop used to lower elevated intraocular pressure in patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
Cobrinzo is a synergistic combination ophthalmic suspension engineered to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) via dual distinct biochemical mechanisms. The formulation pairs Brinzolamide, a highly specific carbonic anhydrase II (CA-II) inhibitor, with Brimonidine Tartrate, a selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist. Brinzolamide operates within the ocular ciliary epithelium to reduce bicarbonate ion formation, slowing sodium and fluid transport and directly decreasing aqueous humor production. Simultaneously, Brimonidine Tartrate suppresses cyclic AMP (cAMP) synthesis to further downregulate aqueous humor formation while concurrently expanding uveoscleral outflow pathways to drain existing fluid.
Purpose
Indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in adult patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are insufficiently controlled by monotherapy.
Ingredients
Brinzolamide + Brimonidine Tartrate
Warnings
Contains brinzolamide, a sulfonamide derivative that is absorbed systemically; strictly discontinue use if serious signs of sulfonamide hypersensitivity or severe skin reactions occur. Brimonidine can cause CNS depression and severe drowsiness; patients must exercise caution when driving or operating heavy machinery. Contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment or hyperchloremic metabolic acidosis. Remove soft contact lenses before instilling drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting to prevent absorption of the benzalkonium chloride preservative.
Side Effects
Blurred vision, a bitter or unusual taste in the mouth, dry mouth, ocular hyperemia (eye redness), eye discomfort, or mild drowsiness.
Storage Instructions
Store in an upright position between 2°C and 25°C (36°F to 77°F). Do not freeze. Keep the bottle tightly closed and discard any remaining solution 28 days after opening. Keep out of reach of children.
