Novoteph 40mg (1 Injection / Pack)
A sterile, intravenous proton pump inhibitor injection containing 40mg of esomeprazole for hyperacidity and upper gastrointestinal protection.
Novoteph 40mg (1 Injection / Pack) is a sterile intravenous proton pump inhibitor containing esomeprazole, designed to rapidly suppress gastric acid production when oral therapy is inappropriate. It works by acting as a selective and irreversible inhibitor of the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system (the proton pump) located on the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell. By shutting down this final step of acid secretion, it significantly elevates intragastric pH, allowing for the rapid healing of esophageal erosions and preventing upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
Purpose
To treat severe gastroesophageal reflux disease with erosive esophagitis, heal peptic ulcers, and prevent rebleeding following therapeutic endoscopy.
Ingredients
Esomeprazole Sodium 40mg
Warnings
Intended solely for intravenous injection or infusion after proper reconstitution; do not administer via any other anatomical route. Exclude gastric malignancy prior to starting therapy as esomeprazole may mask symptoms and delay an accurate clinical diagnosis. Prolonged usage can lead to severe hypomagnesemia; monitor serum magnesium levels periodically in patients on long-term treatment. Adjust doses carefully or perform close clinical monitoring in patients presenting with severe hepatic or renal functional impairment.
Side Effects
Central nervous system symptoms including transient headaches, dizziness, or mild somnolence following injection. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as mild nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, or excessive flatulence. Localized injection site reactions including minor pain, swelling, erythema, or superficial tissue irritation. Pruritus, skin rashes, or rare localized hypersensitivity reactions in individuals with reactive profiles.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C in the original carton, protect from direct light exposure, and use the reconstituted solution within 12 hours.
