Apsin 40mg/5ml (120ml)
An oral H2-receptor antagonist liquid suspension containing famotidine used to treat acid reflux, peptic ulcers, and GERD.
Apsin 40mg/5ml (120ml) is an oral H2-receptor antagonist suspension containing famotidine, designed to reduce the production of excess gastric acid. It works by competitively binding to histamine H2-receptors located on the basolateral membrane of gastric parietal cells, effectively blocking acid secretion stimulated by food or gastrin. This suppression lowers the acidity of gastric secretions, allowing the mucosal lining of the stomach and esophagus to heal from acid-induced damage.
Purpose
To suppress gastric acid secretion and treat active duodenal ulcers, benign gastric ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Ingredients
Famotidine 40mg / 5ml
Warnings
Use with caution and modify the dosage regimen in patients with moderate to severe renal or hepatic insufficiency. Symptomatic response to this therapy does not completely preclude the presence of underlying gastric malignancies. Avoid consuming alcohol, highly spiced foods, or caffeinated beverages during treatment as they can exacerbate gastric irritation. Shake the oral suspension thoroughly before measuring out each dose to ensure accurate delivery of the active drug.
Side Effects
Central nervous system effects including mild headaches, dizziness, or a feeling of general fatigue. Gastrointestinal disturbances such as temporary constipation, mild diarrhea, or minor abdominal discomfort. Dry mouth, transient loss of appetite, or minor alterations in taste perception during the course. Rare instances of skin rash, pruritus, or localized hypersensitivity reactions in sensitive patients.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C in a dry place, do not freeze the liquid, and keep the bottle tightly capped.
