Axium 200mg Tablets contain Celecoxib, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that acts as a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor. By selectively inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, it effectively reduces the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation, providing potent relief from joint stiffness and swelling while minimizing gastrointestinal side effects.

Purpose

Used for the symptomatic relief of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, acute pain, and primary dysmenorrhea.

Warnings

Use with extreme caution in patients with established cardiovascular disease, as selective COX-2 inhibitors may increase the risk of thrombotic events.

Strictly contraindicated in patients with active gastrointestinal bleeding, severe peptic ulceration, or a history of aspirin-induced asthma.

Monitor renal function and blood pressure closely during long-term therapy, particularly in elderly or hypertensive individuals.

Avoid concurrent use with other NSAIDs or systemic oral anticoagulants unless explicitly directed by a physician.
