Azitma 500mg 5ml (1 Injection / Pack)
A sterile, lyophilized intravenous macrolide antibiotic injection containing 500mg of azithromycin for deep-seated systemic or respiratory infections.
Azitma 500mg 5ml (1Injection / Pack) is a sterile lyophilized macrolide antibiotic formulation intended for intravenous infusion to treat severe systemic bacterial infections. It works by reversibly binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible microorganisms, thereby inhibiting RNA-dependent protein synthesis and halting peptide translocation within the bacterial cell. This bacteriostatic action stops the replication and spread of pathogens, allowing the host immune system to clear infections from the lower respiratory tract and pelvic structures.
Purpose
To treat community-acquired pneumonia and pelvic inflammatory disease caused by susceptible bacterial strains requiring initial intravenous therapy.
Ingredients
Azithromycin 500mg
Warnings
Administer strictly via slow intravenous infusion over a period of at least 60 minutes; never inject as an intravenous bolus or intramuscularly. Use with extreme caution in patients with proarrhythmic conditions due to the risk of QT interval prolongation and torsades de pointes. Monitor hepatic functions closely during therapy as azithromycin is metabolized in the liver and contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment. Discontinue the infusion immediately if signs of angioedema, systemic anaphylaxis, or severe dermatological hypersensitivity occur.
Side Effects
Localized pain, redness, inflammation, or thrombophlebitis at the site of the intravenous infusion. Gastrointestinal distress including nausea, cramping, vomiting, diarrhea, or temporary abdominal discomfort. Central nervous system effects such as transient headaches, dizziness, or localized taste variations. Reversible elevations in transaminases or temporary changes in liver function parameters.
Storage Instructions
Store the dry vial below 30°C in its original box; after reconstitution, use immediately or store up to 24 hours below 25°C.
