Nebivolol selectively blocks cardiac beta-1 adrenergic receptors to reduce heart rate and myocardial contractility, while simultaneously stimulating endothelial beta-3 receptors to trigger nitric oxide-mediated vasodilation. This dual action decreases systemic vascular resistance and cardiac output, significantly lowering peripheral and central blood pressure.

Purpose

It is indicated for the management of hypertension, either as monotherapy or concurrently with other antihypertensive agents, to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of fatal or nonfatal cardiovascular events, such as strokes and heart attacks.
