Cetafend 1g/100ml Injection is a sterile, isotonic intravenous solution of Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) engineered for the rapid management of acute moderate-to-severe pain and severe pyrexia. Administered directly into the systemic circulation, it produces immediate analgesic and antipyretic effects by inhibiting central prostaglandin synthesis and modulating the hypothalamic heat-regulating center.

Purpose

Acts on the central nervous system to elevate the pain threshold and rapidly downregulate elevated core temperatures.

Warnings

Exceeding the maximum daily weight-based dosage threshold carries an extreme, life-threatening risk of severe hepatic necrosis. Total daily paracetamol intake across all parallel oral and intravenous formulations must be meticulously calculated and controlled. Administer the intravenous infusion slowly over a strict 15-minute window; never give as an immediate direct bolus. Use with exceptional caution in patients suffering from severe hepatic insufficiency, chronic alcoholism, or acute malnutrition.

Side Effects

Transient localized pain, burning, or redness at the site of intravenous infusion. Mild, self-limiting nausea, vomiting, or temporary abdominal discomfort. Rare, systemic hypersensitivity reactions including skin pruritus or localized hives. Mild, self-limiting drops in systemic blood pressure if infused too rapidly.
