Cutis Spray (30ml)
A topical allylamine antifungal spray containing 1% terbinafine hydrochloride that disrupts fungal cell membrane synthesis to eradicate superficial dermatomycoses.
Cutis 1% Spray (30ml) is a topical allylamine antifungal medication containing terbinafine hydrochloride, formulated for the treatment of superficial dermatophyte infections. It operates by selectively inhibiting the fungal enzyme squalene epoxidase, a critical component in the sterol biosynthesis pathway of the fungal cell membrane. This inhibition leads to a severe deficiency in ergosterol and a toxic intracellular accumulation of squalene, which disrupts membrane integrity, alters cellular permeability, and precipitates rapid fungal cell death.
Purpose
To treat superficial fungal skin infections including tinea pedis (athlete's foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea corporis (ringworm), and pityriasis versicolor.
Ingredients
Terbinafine HCl 1%
Warnings
For external topical use only; keep completely clear of the eyes, nose, oral cavity, and other delicate mucous membranes. Cleanse and thoroughly dry the affected skin areas prior to application to ensure optimal drug penetration and contact. Complete the full recommended duration of therapy even if visible symptoms clear up early, helping to prevent fungal recurrence. Discontinue application immediately and wash the area if severe localized skin irritation, burning, or signs of hypersensitivity develop.
Side Effects
Localized dermatological variations including transient stinging, mild burning, redness, or skin peeling at the site of application. Occasional cutaneous dryness, localized pruritus, or minor irritation shortly after spraying onto inflamed or sensitive skin. Rare allergic contact dermatitis or generalized urticaria in individuals hyper-reactive to terbinafine or the spray excipients. Superficial ocular stinging or temporary conjunctival irritation if the product is accidentally sprayed near the face or eyes.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C in a dry environment, protect from direct heat, sunlight, or open flames, and keep the nozzle capped securely.
