Elemite Lotion (60ml) is a highly effective, targeted topical scabicide formulation containing Permethrin, explicitly indicated for the complete eradication of Sarcoptes scabiei (scabies mites) and their eggs. It functions as a neurotoxin inside the arthropod, disrupting the sodium channel current on nerve cell membranes to induce rapid paralysis and death of the parasite.

Permethrin 5% w/w

Warnings

Apply the lotion thoroughly from the neck down to the soles of the feet, ensuring complete epidermal coverage. Leave the medication on the skin uninterrupted for a full 8 to 14 hours before washing off completely. A single thorough application is typically curative; do not repeat within 7 days unless alive mites are confirmed. All close household contacts must undergo simultaneous treatment to eliminate hidden, asymptomatic re-infestation loops.

Side Effects

Transient, mild local skin burning, stinging, or increased tingling immediately post-application. Temporary intensification of localized pruritus (itching) due to the release of dead mite proteins. Mild superficial erythema, localized skin dryness, or minor epidermal numbness. Rare, localized contact dermatitis in individuals highly sensitive to synthetic pyrethroids.
