Forgex 10/160mg Tablets are a highly effective anti-hypertensive fixed-dose combination containing an intensive calcium channel blocker and a robust angiotensin II receptor antagonist. By simultaneously preventing peripheral calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle and blocking systemic vasoconstrictor pathways, it delivers comprehensive vasodilation to safely normalize elevated blood pressure profiles.

Purpose

Combines Amlodipine and Valsartan to systematically relax peripheral arterial walls and lower total vascular resistance.

Amlodipine (as Besylate) 10mg, Valsartan 160mg

Warnings

Do not stop taking this cardiovascular medication abruptly, as doing so can trigger a dangerous rebound hypertensive crisis. Absolutely contraindicated during pregnancy due to a high clinical risk of causing severe, life-threatening fetal renal toxicity. Regular monitoring of serum potassium levels and baseline kidney function tests (LFTs/RFTs) is highly recommended. Exercise caution when standing up quickly from a seated position to avoid sudden orthostatic dizziness or fainting.

Side Effects

Peripheral edema, specifically temporary fluid swelling in the lower ankles or feet. Frontal headache, light morning dizziness, or generalized physical fatigue. Transient flushing of the face, neck, or upper chest region. Occasional low-grade nausea or localized upper abdominal discomfort.
