Fudic (2%) Oint (15g)
A lipid-rich topical antibacterial ointment containing 2% sodium fusidate designed for dry, crusting bacterial skin infections.
Fudic (2%) Oint (15g) is a high-viscosity topical antibacterial ointment containing sodium fusidate, formulated to treat localized skin infections. It works by penetrating deep into the fatty epidermal layers to reversibly inhibit bacterial protein translation by blocking elongation factor G on the ribosomes. The protective, occlusive ointment base remains on the skin surface over extended periods, making it highly effective for treating dry, crusting lesions caused by susceptible Gram-positive pathogens.
Purpose
To treat impetigo, primary dermatological infections, and infected cuts or scrapes caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria.
Ingredients
Sodium Fusidate 2% w/w
Warnings
Intended solely for external dermatological use; keep away from conjunctival membranes and the immediate eye area. Avoid applying to heavily exudative or weeping skin lesions where an occlusive ointment base might trap moisture. Complete the full duration of treatment as directed by your clinician to avoid inducing localized antimicrobial resistance. Wash your hands thoroughly before and immediately after applying the ointment to prevent spreading the infection.
Side Effects
Localized application site reactions such as mild stinging, transient warmth, or minor burning sensations. Cutaneous hypersensitivity symptoms including localized pruritus, skin rash, or mild erythema. Rare instances of contact dermatitis or localized skin irritation at the site of repeated application. Increased localized skin softness or maceration if applied heavily under tight restrictive clothing.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C in a dry environment, preserve from direct heat sources, and keep out of reach of children.
