Fusac H Cream (5g)
An anti-inflammatory and antibacterial combination cream containing fusidic acid and hydrocortisone acetate for infected eczema.
Fusac H Cream (5g) is a fixed-dose topical combination containing an antibacterial agent and a mild corticosteroid designed to treat inflamed skin infections. It works through a dual mechanism: fusidic acid selectively inhibits bacterial protein synthesis to clear the infection, while hydrocortisone acetate diffuses into cell nuclei to induce lipocortins, suppressing phospholipase A2 to reduce inflammatory prostaglandins. This dual action rapidly relieves the distressing swelling, itching, and redness associated with infected eczematous lesions.
Purpose
To treat eczema, dermatitis, and inflammatory skin conditions where a secondary bacterial infection is present or suspected.
Ingredients
Fusidic Acid 2% w/w, Hydrocortisone Acetate 1% w/w
Warnings
Intended solely for external topical use; do not apply to the face, groin, or axillae for long periods due to skin thinning risk. Do not use under tight occlusive dressings as this increases systemic corticosteroid absorption and risk of adrenal axis suppression. Contraindicated in primary viral, fungal, or tubercular skin lesions, as well as untreated cutaneous conditions like rosacea or perioral dermatitis. Limit the application course to a maximum of two consecutive weeks unless explicitly directed by a dermatologist.
Side Effects
Localized application site reactions including transient burning, stinging, irritation, or mild redness. Minor skin thinning, structural atrophy, or the development of fine striae with extended or improper use. Telangiectasia or visible dilation of small superficial blood vessels on areas of prolonged application. Mild localized itching, pruritus, or secondary skin dryness at the site of administration.
Storage Instructions
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protect from freezing, and keep out of reach of children.
