Gabica 75mg Capsules contain Pregabalin, a structural analogue of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). It binds with high affinity to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, effectively reducing the presynaptic release of excitatory neurotransmitters like glutamate and substance P to calm overactive neurons and alleviate chronic pain signals.

Purpose

Used for the management of peripheral and central neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and as adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures.

Warnings

Avoid abrupt withdrawal of therapy; taper the dose gradually over a minimum of one week to minimize the risk of rebound insomnia, headaches, and increased seizure frequency.

May cause significant dizziness and somnolence; advise patients not to drive or operate heavy machinery until their response is fully determined.

Use with caution in patients with congestive heart failure due to the potential risk of localized peripheral edema and fluid retention.

Monitor closely for the emergence or worsening of depressive symptoms, suicidal ideation, or sudden changes in mood and behavior.

Side Effects

Drowsiness, dizziness, somnolence, fatigue, or generalized physical lethargy.

Increased appetite, gradual weight gain, and localized peripheral edema in the lower extremities.

Dry mouth, blurred vision, difficulty with concentration, or mild coordination disturbances.

Mild gastrointestinal complaints such as constipation, bloating, or flatulence.
