It operates locally by blocking ATP-gated P2X3 ion channels situated on the sensory C-fibers of the vagus nerve within the respiratory airways, preventing extracellular adenosine triphosphate (ATP) released during airway inflammation from triggering sensory hypersensitivity and intercepting the pathologically hyperactive neural urge to cough.

Purpose

Blocks vagal nerve P2X3 receptors in the respiratory tract to stop extracellular ATP from triggering excessive sensory-nerve activation and cough urges.

Warnings

Administer strictly as a single 45mg tablet twice daily according to the timeline designated by your clinician, swallowing it completely with or without food. Side Effects
