Gempaz M 12.5/500mg (14 Tablet / Pack)
A combination oral antidiabetic tablet merging an SGLT2 inhibitor and a biguanide for robust blood sugar control.
Gempaz M is a combination oral antidiabetic therapy merging an SGLT2 inhibitor with a biguanide. Empagliflozin promotes renal glucose excretion by inhibiting SGLT2 in the proximal tubules, while Metformin Hydrochloride decreases hepatic glucose production, reduces intestinal glucose absorption, and enhances peripheral insulin sensitivity. This complementary dual-action approach targets multiple pathways of hyperglycemia, providing superior HbA1c reduction while mitigating some of the weight-gain risks associated with other diabetic therapies.
Purpose
Indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
Ingredients
Empagliflozin + Metformin Hydrochloride
Warnings
Contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min), metabolic acidosis, or diabetic ketoacidosis. Metformin carries a risk of lactic acidosis; discontinue therapy before any radiologic studies involving iodinated contrast agents. Ensure adequate fluid intake to avoid dehydration. Monitor for genital infections and signs of DKA.

Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, abdominal pain, genital yeast infections, or increased frequency of urination.
