Ibnate 150mg Tablets contain Ibandronic Acid, a highly potent bisphosphonate. It works by binding to the hydroxyapatite in bone tissue and specifically inhibiting osteoclast activity, which directly reduces bone resorption and turnover. Administered once a month, it progressively increases bone mineral density, effectively preventing and treating postmenopausal osteoporosis while reducing the risk of severe fractures.

Warnings

Take the tablet on an empty stomach first thing in the morning with a full glass of plain water at least 60 minutes before the first food or drink of the day.

Remain fully upright (sitting, standing, or walking) for at least 60 minutes after swallowing the tablet to prevent severe esophageal irritation or ulceration.

Ensure adequate daily intake of calcium and Vitamin D to prevent hypocalcemia while on this therapy.

Consult a dentist before starting treatment, as bisphosphonates carry a rare risk of osteonecrosis of the jaw, particularly following dental extractions.

Side Effects

Gastrointestinal issues such as dyspepsia, heartburn, nausea, diarrhea, or abdominal pain.

Musculoskeletal discomfort including generalized bone, joint, or severe muscle pain.

Transient flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, fatigue) primarily occurring after the very first dose.

Rare but severe esophageal irritation, difficulty swallowing, or gastric ulcers if dosing instructions are not strictly followed.
