Itaglip Plus (50/1000mg) Tab
Sitagliptin 50mg and Metformin 1000mg for type 2 diabetes.
Itaglip Plus 50/1000mg is a fixed-dose combination of sitagliptin 50mg (DPP-4 inhibitor) and metformin 1000mg. Sitagliptin increases incretin-mediated insulin release; metformin reduces hepatic glucose production. Used for type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise are insufficient. Usually taken twice daily with meals.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
Ingredients
Sitagliptin (as phosphate) 50mg and Metformin hydrochloride 1000mg per tablet.
Warnings
Contraindicated in severe renal impairment (eGFR <30), diabetic ketoacidosis. Risk of lactic acidosis; avoid in conditions predisposing to hypoxia. Not for type 1 diabetes.
Side Effects
Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort. Rare: lactic acidosis (metformin), pancreatitis (sitagliptin).
Storage Instructions
Store below 25°C in a dry place. Keep in original pack to protect from moisture.
