Kaolin Poultice is a heavy medicated paste designed for external application to soothe deep tissue inflammation, alleviate muscular pain, and reduce localized swelling. It acts as a counter-irritant and utilizes its natural hygroscopic properties to retain heat, increase blood flow, and draw out toxic accumulations from abscesses or boiled skin lesions.

Purpose

Exerts counter-irritant and osmotic actions to reduce swelling, draw out skin impurities, and soothe painful joints.

Ingredients

Heavy Kaolin, Boric Acid, Methyl Salicylate, Thymol, Peppermint Oil, Glycerol

Warnings

For external topical use only; never apply directly onto open wounds, broken skin, or mucous membranes. Always test the temperature of the heated paste on a small skin patch before application to prevent accidental thermal burns. Avoid contact with the eyes, and do not cover the applied area with airtight plastic wrap or heating pads. Keep out of reach of children to prevent accidental oral ingestion of the boric acid components.

Side Effects

Skin redness or irritation at the application site. Mild localized burning or warmth. Allergic contact dermatitis in individuals sensitive to wintergreen or peppermint oils. Risk of thermal blistering if applied too hot.
