Linxo 600mg Tablets contain a powerful, highly targeted synthetic oxazolidinone antibacterial agent indicated for the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive microorganisms. It acts selectively by binding to the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit to inhibit the initiation complex of protein synthesis, effectively treating vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) and nosocomial pneumonias.

Purpose

Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis at the ribosomal level to eradicate resistant systemic, pulmonary, and skin infections.

Warnings

Complete blood counts, especially platelets, must be monitored weekly due to the risk of dose-dependent myelosuppression and reversible anemia. Avoid the consumption of foods with high tyramine content, such as aged cheeses, to prevent sudden dangerous elevations in blood pressure. Concomitant use with serotonergic agents like SSRIs can precipitate life-threatening serotonin syndrome and requires careful clinical evaluation. Stop administration immediately and contact a doctor if you experience progressive visual disturbances or peripheral neuropathy.

Side Effects

Nausea, temporary vomiting, or generalized abdominal pain. Loose stools, diarrhea, or localized oral candidiasis. Headaches, dizziness, or a metallic taste in the mouth. Mild, reversible reductions in platelet and white blood cell counts.
