Minirin 0.2mg (30 Tablet / Pack)
A concentrated synthetic antidiuretic hormone tablet containing 0.2mg of desmopressin acetate for polyuria management.
Minirin 0.2mg (30 Tablet / Pack) is a concentrated synthetic antidiuretic hormone preparation formulated with desmopressin acetate to control systemic fluid balance. It works by mimicking endogenous arginine vasopressin to exert a potent antidiuretic effect on the distal renal tubules, directly increasing osmotic water permeability and reducing total urinary output. This specific hormone replacement therapy prevents dehydration, manages chronic polyuria, and prevents frequent involuntary nighttime urination without affecting vascular smooth muscle V1 receptors.
Purpose
To manage central diabetes insipidus, treat primary nocturnal enuresis, and reduce nocturia episodes in adult patients.
Ingredients
Desmopressin Acetate 0.2mg
Warnings
Fluid restriction guidelines must be rigidly followed; excessive fluid consumption during therapy can cause hyponatremic seizures. Use with extreme caution in patients with congestive heart failure or controlled cardiovascular conditions due to fluid overload risks. Regularly assess body weight and serum electrolyte values to detect early signs of internal fluid retention. Do not increase the prescribed dose independently if clinical efficacy seems reduced; consult your endocrinologist.
Side Effects
Headaches, dizziness, or generalized lightheadedness associated with localized fluid shifts or hyponatremia. Gastrointestinal side effects including mild nausea, vomiting, abdominal fullness, or localized cramps. Temporary metabolic shifts such as decreased serum sodium levels or localized peripheral puffiness. Rare hypersensitivity manifestations including skin rash, localized pruritus, or minor breathing discomfort.
Storage Instructions
Store below 25°C in a dry environment, protect from heat, and ensure the bottle cap is screwed down tightly after use.
