Monekast Oral Drops are a specialized leukotriene receptor antagonist formulation prescribed for pediatric patients to manage and prevent asthma symptoms and seasonal allergic rhinitis. By selectively blocking leukotriene receptors in the respiratory tract, it effectively reduces airway inflammation, bronchoconstriction, and mucosal edema.

Warnings

Not indicated for the reversal of acute bronchospasm or sudden, severe asthma attacks; rescue medication must be used. Monitor pediatric patients closely for sudden neuropsychiatric changes, including abnormal dreams, anxiety, or behavioral disturbances. Administer consistently every evening as directed, regardless of whether the child is currently experiencing active symptoms. Keep out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion or improper dosing.

Side Effects

Mild upper respiratory tract infections or cough. Transient diarrhea or abdominal discomfort. Mild fever or skin rashes. Hyperactivity, restlessness, or sleep disturbances in sensitive children.
