Noracor 5mg (14 Tablet / Pack)
An oral sinoatrial node funny current (If) channel inhibitor tablet containing 5mg of ivabradine for heart rate modification.
Noracor 5mg (14 Tablet / Pack) is an oral antianginal and heart rate lowering medication containing ivabradine, prescribed to regulate and stabilize cardiac function. It works by selectively and specifically inhibiting the hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channel responsible for the cardiac pacemaker funny current (If) in the sinoatrial node. This targeted mechanism slows down the heart rate by a few beats per minute, decreasing myocardial oxygen demand and maximizing diastolic perfusion time without affecting arterial blood pressure or cardiac contractility.
Purpose
To treat symptomatic chronic stable angina pectoris and manage chronic heart failure (NYHA Class II to IV) with systolic dysfunction in patients with a sinus rhythm.
Ingredients
Ivabradine 5mg
Warnings
Monitor heart rate regularly prior to and during treatment; initiation is strictly contraindicated if the resting heart rate is less than 70 beats per minute. Avoid concurrent consumption of grapefruit or grapefruit juice, as it significantly elevates systemic exposure to ivabradine and increases bradycardia risks. Contraindicated in patients presenting with acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina, severe hypotension, sick sinus syndrome, or third-degree AV block. Use with caution in individuals with severe renal insufficiency or mild-to-moderate hepatic impairment, and monitor for sudden atrial fibrillation developments.
Side Effects
Visual symptoms including transient luminous phenomena (phosphenes) or blurred vision, particularly during sudden changes in light intensity. Cardiac variations such as symptomatic bradycardia, sinus arrest, first-degree atrioventricular block, or unprovoked palpitations. Central nervous system effects including transient headaches, postural dizziness, vertigo, or a feeling of physical fatigue. Gastrointestinal disruptions such as mild nausea, dyspepsia, temporary constipation, or minor abdominal discomfort.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C in a dry place, protect from direct heat, and keep the tablets within their original blister strip.
