Noracor 7.5mg (14 Tablet / Pack) is a concentrated oral hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channel blocker containing ivabradine, formulated for advanced cardiovascular management. It works by selectively blocking the pacemaker funny current (If) in the sinoatrial node cells, reducing the rate of spontaneous diastolic depolarization to achieve therapeutic bradycardia. This localized cardiotonic adjustment allows the ventricles to fill more efficiently, safely lowering workload and preventing ischemic chest pain episodes during exertion.

Purpose

To manage chronic stable angina pectoris and reduce cardiovascular hospitalization risks in patients with stable chronic heart failure.

Warnings

Do not initiate therapy if the resting heart rate is less than 75 beats per minute in patients being managed specifically for chronic heart failure conditions. Regularly monitor for the development of atrial fibrillation; if a persistent irregular rhythm occurs during treatment, discontinue the medication. Strictly contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to potential embryotoxic and developmental risks associated with active ivabradine exposure. Avoid co-administration with strong cytochrome P450 3A4 inhibitors, such as macrolide antibiotics or azole antifungals, to prevent toxic accumulation.

Side Effects

Luminous visual phenomena or transient phosphenes presenting as enhanced brightness in limited areas of the visual field. Bradycardia manifesting with symptoms such as severe dizziness, physical exhaustion, fainting spells, or chest tightness. Central nervous system reactions such as tension headaches, drowsiness, lightheadedness, or muscular weakness. Uncontrolled blood pressure fluctuations, including temporary hypotension or transient rises in systemic blood pressure.
