Semaglutide acts as a selective GLP-1 receptor agonist that mimics native incretin hormones to stimulate glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells and slow hepatic glucose output. It concurrently slows down the rate of gastric emptying and modulates central nervous system pathways to safely downregulate appetite and optimize overall glycemic balance.

Purpose

It is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, and to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in adults with established cardiovascular disease.

- Never share your pre-filled pen device with another person, even if the disposable needle has been changed, to avoid transmission of blood-borne pathogens.\n- Avoid usage if you have a personal or family medical history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or if you suffer from an active, severe gastrointestinal disorder.\n- Monitor your blood glucose closely if using this concurrently with insulin or sulfonylureas, as the combination can increase the risk of low blood sugar.

- You may experience typical gastrointestinal symptoms such as persistent nausea, frequent vomiting, diarrhea, or mild stomach discomfort.\n- Localized constipation, decreased physical appetite, and temporary fatigue are frequently reported during the early stages of treatment.\n- Transient worsening of diabetic retinopathy symptoms or mild changes in taste perception can occasionally occur.

Storage Instructions

Store unused pens in a refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C. After first use, store the pen for up to 56 days below 30°C or in the refrigerator with the pen cap attached. Keep out of reach of children.
