Poze G 30mg/2mg (14 Tablet / Pack)
Poze G is a daily combination oral antidiabetic used to manage type 2 diabetes by increasing both insulin secretion and peripheral insulin sensitivity.
Poze G combines two distinct antidiabetic agents with complementary mechanisms to optimize blood glucose control. **Pioglitazone** is a thiazolidinedione that acts as a potent agonist at PPAR-gamma nuclear receptors, enhancing insulin sensitivity and increasing glucose disposal in skeletal muscle and adipose tissue while reducing hepatic glucose output. Simultaneously, **Glimepiride** is a second-generation sulfonylurea that acts on pancreatic beta cells by blocking ATP-sensitive potassium channels. This blockade induces cell membrane depolarization, opening voltage-gated calcium channels and stimulating the exocytosis of pre-formed insulin.
Purpose
It is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when monotherapy fails to achieve adequate glycemic control.
Ingredients
Pioglitazone + Glimepiride
Warnings
**Hypoglycemia Warning:** Due to the sulfonylurea component, this medication carries a high risk of severe hypoglycemia; patients must maintain regular meal schedules and carry a fast-acting glucose source. **Cardiovascular Risk:** Contraindicated in patients with active or symptomatic heart failure due to pioglitazone-induced fluid accumulation. **Hepatic Impairment:** Not recommended for individuals with severe hepatic dysfunction or active liver disease.
Side Effects
**Metabolic & Fluid:** Hypoglycemia, significant weight gain, peripheral edema, and upper respiratory tract infections. **Gastrointestinal:** Nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, diarrhea, and transient cholestatic jaundice. **Nervous System:** Headache, dizziness, asthenia, and temporary accommodation disturbances in vision.
