Predheal Lotion (50ml) is a topical corticosteroid formulation containing prednicarbate, a medium-potency synthetic glucocorticoid designed to treat inflammatory and pruritic dermatoses. It works by diffusing across cell membranes to bind with high affinity to cytoplasmic glucocorticoid receptors, inducing the transcription of lipocortins. These inhibitory proteins block phospholipase A2, stopping the release of arachidonic acid and effectively halting the synthesis of potent inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes. This targeted action rapidly reduces dermal capillary dilation, edema, and localized cellular infiltration to calm burning skin.

Purpose

To alleviate inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, including eczema, atopic dermatitis, and psoriasis.

Warnings

For external dermatological use only; strictly avoid application in or near the eyes, open lacerations, or deep puncture wounds. Do not apply occlusive dressings, bandages, or tight wraps over the treated area unless specifically directed by a healthcare professional. Limit the duration of therapy on sensitive areas like the face, groin, or axillae to prevent localized skin atrophy or systemic absorption. Discontinue use and consult a physician if localized skin irritation, secondary bacterial infections, or systemic reactions develop.

Side Effects

Localized dermatological reactions including a mild burning sensation, temporary stinging, redness, or skin dryness at the application site. Long-term application risks including localized cutaneous atrophy, telangiectasia, striae, or secondary superficial infections. Potential risk of mild, reversible hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression if used over extensive surface areas. Rare systemic hypersensitivity manifestations such as allergic contact dermatitis or generalized hives in susceptible patients.
