Rifaximin 550mg tablets for gastrointestinal infections and hepatic encephalopathy.
Rifagut 550mg contains rifaximin, a non-systemic antibiotic that acts locally in the gastrointestinal tract. It works by binding to bacterial RNA polymerase, inhibiting protein synthesis. It is used to treat traveler's diarrhea caused by E. coli and to reduce the risk of recurring hepatic encephalopathy in adults with chronic liver disease.

Treatment of traveler's diarrhea and prevention of hepatic encephalopathy episodes.

Rifaximin 550mg per tablet.
Warnings
Consult a doctor if diarrhea is accompanied by fever or blood. Not effective against systemic bacterial infections.
Side Effects
Nausea, flatulence, abdominal pain, and headache. Generally well-tolerated with low systemic absorption.
