Rusiam 10mg (10 Tablet / Pack) contain Rosuvastatin, a highly effective HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) formulated to regulate lipid metabolism. By selectively blocking cholesterol synthesis in the liver and upregulating hepatic LDL receptors, it significantly reduces circulating low-density lipoprotein (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides while elevating high-density lipoprotein (good cholesterol).

Purpose

Inhibits hepatic HMG-CoA reductase to lower systemic bad cholesterol levels and slow down arterial plaque buildup.

Warnings

Patients must report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness immediately to evaluate for rare myopathy or rhabdomyolysis. Completely contraindicated in patients with active, unexplained hepatic disease or persistent elevations in serum transaminases. Routine lipid panels and baseline liver function tests (LFTs) should be executed prior to and during long-term therapy. Absolutely contraindicated during pregnancy or lactation due to the high risk of disrupting crucial fetal lipid synthesis.

Side Effects

Transient mild headache, dizziness, or localized asthenia (weakness). Gastrointestinal upset, including nausea, mild constipation, or flatulence. Localized myalgia (muscle aches) without significant enzyme elevation. Small, dose-dependent increases in blood glucose levels or HbA1c profiles.
