Sertazol Cream (20G)
A topical antifungal skin cream designed to clear fungal skin infections like ringworm, athlete's foot, and jock itch.
Sertazol is a topical imidazole antifungal formulation engineered to treat superficial dermatological mycoses. The active pharmaceutical ingredient, Sertaconazole Nitrate, operates by selectively inhibiting the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme 14-alpha-demethylase, which interrupts the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol. Because ergosterol is an essential constituent of fungal cell membranes, its depletion compromises structural membrane integrity, increasing permeability and causing intracellular leakage that halts fungal replication and leads to cell death.
Purpose
Indicated for the topical treatment of superficial fungal infections of the skin, including tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea corporis, pityriasis versicolor, and cutaneous candidiasis.
Ingredients
Sertaconazole Nitrate
Warnings
For topical dermatological use only; strictly avoid application in or near the eyes, mouth, or intravaginally. Discontinue use immediately if a severe local chemical irritation or hypersensitivity reaction develops. Do not cover treated skin areas with occlusive dressings unless specifically directed by a healthcare professional, as this can excessively increase systemic absorption. Use with caution in pregnant or nursing women, applying only if the clinical benefit outweighs potential risks.
Side Effects
Application site burning, mild stinging, localized redness, skin dryness, or a minor itching sensation.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C (86°F) in a cool, dry place, completely protected from freezing and direct sunlight. Keep the tube tightly capped after every use. Keep out of reach of children.
