Bonjela Oral Gel (10g)
A topical oral analgesic and antiseptic gel used to relieve pain from mouth ulcers, teething, and denture sores.
Sonjela Oral Gel Bonjela (10g) is a targeted topical oral gel formulated with an effective analgesic and antiseptic to relieve painful mouth conditions. It works by delivering choline salicylate to reduce localized inflammation and pain, while cetalkonium chloride eliminates harmful micro-organisms to prevent secondary infections. This dual-action pathway quickly soothes discomfort caused by mouth ulcers, infant teething, cold sores, and orthodontic brace irritations.
Purpose
To alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and provide minor antiseptic protection for localized lesions in the oral cavity.
Ingredients
Choline Salicylate 8.7% w/w, Cetalkonium Chloride 0.01% w/w
Warnings
Do not exceed the frequency of application or dosage specified on the packaging to prevent salicylate toxicity. Avoid applying directly onto new, unhealed deep surgical wounds or severe dental extractions within the mouth. Exercise caution in children and adolescents under 16 years due to the theoretical connection between systemic salicylates and Reye’s syndrome. Do not consume food or beverages for at least 15 minutes after application to prevent wiping away the gel layer.
Side Effects
Transient stinging or a mild burning sensation immediately upon application to open mouth ulcers. Localized oral mucosal irritation or minor swelling if applied excessively to sensitive gums. Allergic reactions manifesting as localized rashes or oral swelling in rare, sensitive profiles. Altered taste perception or increased salivation directly after spreading the gel inside the mouth.
Storage Instructions
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, do not freeze, and keep the tube cap tightly sealed.
