Tissara 90mg Tablets contain Ticagrelor, a platelet aggregation inhibitor that functions as a selective P2Y12 receptor antagonist. It works by preventing blood cells called platelets from clumping together to form harmful blood clots, significantly reducing the rate of thrombotic cardiovascular events such as heart attacks or strokes in high-risk patients.

Purpose

Used to prevent blood clot formation in patients with a history of acute coronary syndromes or myocardial infarction.

Warnings

Strictly contraindicated in patients with an active pathological bleed, such as an intracranial hemorrhage or peptic ulcer disease.

Avoid initiation in patients undergoing urgent coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery; discontinue therapy at least 5 days prior to scheduled surgeries.

Concomitant use with high maintenance doses of aspirin (above 100mg) should be avoided as it reduces the clinical efficacy of this medication.

Side Effects

Increased bleeding tendency, including frequent nosebleeds, bruising, subcutaneous hematomas, or gastrointestinal hemorrhage.

Dyspnea or an unexpected sensation of shortness of breath, which is typically transient.

Elevations in serum uric acid levels, which may occasionally trigger or worsen symptoms of gout.

Gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, or localized abdominal pain.
