Ulcenil 40mg (10 Tablet / Pack)
An oral histamine H2-receptor antagonist tablet containing 40mg of famotidine that decreases gastric acid production to protect the mucosal lining.
Ulcenil 40mg (10 Tablet / Pack) is an oral gastrointestinal medication containing famotidine, classified as a histamine H2-receptor antagonist. It works by selectively binding to and blocking H2 receptors on the gastric parietal cells, thereby inhibiting basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion. This reduction in stomach acid volume and hydrogen ion concentration facilitates the healing of esophageal, gastric, and duodenal mucosal lesions while rapidly mitigating burning symptoms.
Purpose
To treat gastric and duodenal ulcers, manage gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and provide symptomatic relief from acute heartburn and hyperacidity.
Ingredients
Famotidine 40mg
Warnings
Use with caution and adjust standard dosages in patients presenting with moderate-to-severe renal insufficiency due to decreased drug clearance. Complete the full prescribed course of therapy even if symptoms improve quickly, as premature cessation can delay mucosal healing. Monitor older adult patients closely for central nervous system side effects such as transient confusion, agitation, or hallucinations. Avoid concurrent consumption of alcohol, highly spicy foods, or acidic beverages, as they can directly exacerbate gastric mucosal irritation.
Side Effects
Central nervous system effects including mild tension headaches, postural dizziness, or temporary drowsiness. Gastrointestinal changes such as transient diarrhea, mild constipation, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, or dry mouth. Rare systemic hypersensitivity reactions including localized cutaneous rash, pruritus, urticaria, or minor fatigue. Mild laboratory variations such as transient elevations in liver transaminases or minor changes in blood cell counts.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C in a dry place, protect the tablets from direct heat and light, and keep inside the original blister strip.
