Unicam Tablets contain a long-acting oxicam derivative belonging to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) class, prescribed to manage severe pain and inflammatory states. It works by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, effectively decreasing joint stiffness, swelling, and chronic pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Purpose

Inhibits systemic prostaglandin production to decrease pain, stiffness, and inflammation in arthritic conditions.

Warnings

Carries a significant risk of causing gastrointestinal ulceration, bleeding, or perforation, which can happen without warning signs. Avoid use in patients with severe heart failure, chronic kidney disease, active peptic ulcers, or a history of aspirin-induced asthma. Do not take concurrently with other oral NSAIDs, oral anticoagulants, or systemic corticosteroids to minimize severe bleeding risks. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration to avoid elevated cardiovascular thrombotic risks.

Epigastric pain, heartburn, nausea, or indigestion. Headaches, dizziness, or tinnitus. Fluid retention and peripheral edema. Increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding or hard, dark stools.
