Valiant M 50/1000mg Tablets contain a fixed-dose combination of Vildagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride, which work synergistically to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes. Vildagliptin enhances pancreatic insulin secretion by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, while Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity.

Purpose

Used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to lower blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Ingredients

Vildagliptin 50mg + Metformin Hydrochloride 1000mg

Warnings

Discontinue immediately and seek urgent medical evaluation if symptoms of lactic acidosis, such as severe muscle cramps, hyperventilation, or deep malaise occur.

Monitor liver function tests (LFTs) and renal clearance parameters closely before starting therapy and periodically during treatment.

Contraindicated in patients suffering from severe renal impairment, acute heart failure, or conditions predisposing to tissue hypoxia.

Temporarily withhold this medication prior to and during radiologic studies utilizing iodinated contrast materials or surgical procedures.

Side Effects

Gastrointestinal disturbances including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, or temporary abdominal discomfort.

Metallic or altered taste perception, loss of appetite, or minor digestive changes.

Low risk of hypoglycemia when used alone, but risk increases when co-administered with a sulfonylurea or insulin.

Rare occurrences of skin reactions, dizziness, headaches, or mild peripheral edema.
