Velker Plus is a dual-mechanism fixed-dose antihypertensive formulation engineered to achieve optimal blood pressure reduction. The active pharmaceutical ingredients combine two distinct therapeutic classes: Amlodipine (as Besylate) is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that selectively inhibits transmembrane calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle cells, leading to direct peripheral arterial vasodilation and reduced total peripheral resistance. Concurrently, Valsartan is a potent, specific oral angiotensin II receptor antagonist that selectively blocks the AT1 receptor subtype responsible for the detrimental actions of angiotensin II. By displacing angiotensin II, it prevents systemic vasoconstriction, inhibits aldosterone release, and curtails sympathetic activation, working synergistically with amlodipine to lower arterial pressure.
