Viasit M 50/1000mg (14 Tablet / Pack)
A high-potency dual-mechanism oral combination antidiabetic tablet indicated for comprehensive Type 2 Diabetes management.
Viasit M 50/1000mg (14 Tablet / Pack) is an advanced, fixed-dose combination oral antihyperglycemic medication containing Sitagliptin Phosphate and Metformin Hydrochloride, engineered for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It delivers dual-pathway glycemic control: Sitagliptin acts as a selective DPP-4 inhibitor to prolong incretin hormone activity and boost glucose-dependent insulin release, while Metformin acts as a biguanide to decrease hepatic gluconeogenesis and maximize peripheral insulin sensitivity.
Purpose
Combines a DPP-4 inhibitor and a biguanide to enhance insulin secretion, suppress hepatic glucose production, and optimize peripheral glucose uptake.
Ingredients
Sitagliptin (as Phosphate) 50mg, Metformin Hydrochloride 1000mg
Warnings
Must be taken strictly with or immediately following a main meal to significantly minimize the risk of initial gastrointestinal irritation. Discontinue use immediately and seek emergency medical care if you experience deep, rapid breathing or severe muscle cramps (signs of Lactic Acidosis). Avoid excessive concurrent consumption of alcohol, as it can heavily amplify the risk of precipitating metformin-induced lactic acidosis. Periodically monitor baseline kidney function parameters (eGFR/RFTs) and long-term systemic Vitamin B12 levels.
Side Effects
Initial gastrointestinal distress including transient diarrhea, nausea, abdominal bloating, flatulence, or a temporary metallic taste. Upper respiratory tract irritation, mild nasopharyngitis, or a low-grade dry cough due to the sitagliptin component. Self-limiting loss of appetite or minor upper abdominal cramps during the first few weeks of combination therapy. Low-grade physical weakness or generalized daytime tiredness if daily calorie intake is insufficient.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C in a thoroughly dry room, ensuring the blister packaging is safe from children's reach.
