Xenva 0.5mg (30 Tablet / Pack) is an oral dopamine receptor agonist medication containing cabergoline, used to treat hyperprolactinemic disorders. It works by binding selectively with high affinity to dopamine D2 receptors on pituitary lactotroph cells, directly suppressing the overproduction and secretion of prolactin. This therapeutic action helps normalize hormone levels, restore regular menstrual cycles, and treat conditions like galactorrhea or pituitary adenomas.

Purpose

To reduce abnormally high blood levels of prolactin and manage associated reproductive and pituitary disorders.

Warnings

Discontinue use and consult a physician immediately if signs of cardiac valvulopathy or retroperitoneal fibrosis develop. Regularly monitor blood pressure during the initial weeks of therapy due to the risk of symptomatic orthostatic hypotension. Exercise caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment, and perform baseline cardiovascular evaluations prior to starting treatment. Avoid concurrent administration with dopamine antagonists, such as phenothiazines or metoclopramide, which can decrease drug efficacy.

Side Effects

Gastrointestinal symptoms including mild nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, or localized abdominal pain. Neurological manifestations such as dizziness, vertigo, headache, or unexpected fatigue and somnolence. Postural hypotension causing temporary lightheadedness when changing from a sitting to standing position. Psychological variations including mild anxiety, sleep disturbances, or hot flashes in sensitive patients.
