An oral, preferentially selective COX-2 inhibitor NSAID tablet indicated for the management of joint pain, swelling, and chronic stiffness associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
Xobix 7.5mg (10 Tablet / Pack) contains Meloxicam, a potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) belonging to the oxicam class, manufactured by Hilton Pharma. Operating at the localized cellular level, it exerts its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic therapeutic actions by preferentially inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme over the cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) enzyme, effectively halting the upstream synthesis of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins that directly mediate articular tissue tenderness, localized joint effusion, and structural bone stiffness.
Purpose
Inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes to arrest peripheral prostaglandin synthesis, rapidly suppressing joint space inflammation and relieving chronic musculoskeletal pain.

Warnings
Administer strictly as a single daily dose, swallowed whole with a full glass of water, and preferably during or immediately after a main meal to protect the stomach lining. Use with extreme professional caution in individuals presenting with an underlying history of high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, or established ischemic heart disease. Completely contraindicated in patients presenting with an active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe hepatic insufficiency, or advanced renal impairment. Absolutely avoid use during the third trimester of pregnancy due to the critical risk of premature closure of the fetal ductus arteriosus.
Side Effects
Gastrointestinal adjustments including low-grade abdominal cramps, mild morning nausea, flatulence, diarrhea, or temporary upper digestive discomfort (dyspepsia). Central nervous system variations including minor transient headache, lightheadedness, postural dizziness, or mild daytime drowsiness. Potential for localized fluid retention, manifested as mild, self-limiting peripheral edema or minor puffiness across the lower extremities. Rare dermatological hypersensitivity responses including a transient faint skin rash, mild localized itching, or superficial hives in sensitive patients.
